(To donate please\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/boulder360\">click <\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/boulder360\">here<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>At the start of the day we warmed up\u00a0in The Mini Works but after some failed attempts at skipping in a busy environment\u00a0we headed over\u00a0to\u00a0the big works for a more quiet start.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 474px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><!--[if lt IE 9]><script>document.createElement('video');<\/script><![endif]-->\n<video class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-526-1\" width=\"474\" height=\"267\" preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/mp4\" src=\"https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Skipping.mp4?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Skipping.mp4\">https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Skipping.mp4<\/a><\/video><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>After warming up\u00a0we moved to our first circuit, the greens, we\u00a0warmed up on these and I chose to do odd numbers of climbs\u00a0while Abi chose even numbers. After eating our lunch, we started the blues with absolutely no hope of doing\u00a0any in the small amount of\u00a0attempts\u00a0we\u00a0had set to\u00a0try them in. We were right \u00a0and we didn&#8217;t top a single climb but made some good progress on some of the more fun climbs that we both tried.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_9b88.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-529\" src=\"https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_9b88-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"unadjustednonraw_thumb_9b88\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_9b88-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_9b88-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_9b88.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As the red circuit was due to be reset in the following days so it had been taken down, we had to compensate and chose to do the comp wall! A bit of an unfair swap I know but we were both still optimistic and full of energy so we tried every climb and even worked on a few for a while. Part way through our circuit on the comp wall we had a generous donation from some climbing friends and they also bought us a Freddo each! \u00a0We both did about half a dozen climbs and\u00a0as few of them were really hard we were absolutely knackered at the end of it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_9b5d.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-538\" src=\"https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_9b5d-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"unadjustednonraw_thumb_9b5d\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_9b5d-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_9b5d-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_9b5d.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After a LONG rest and some hilarious hand taping we started the orange circuit with refreshed energy. We were both hoping to do a few of the oranges as they are often climbs that we would do after a few attempts. Unfortunately we only did one or two but once again wasted our energy by trying\u00a0each others numerous times. Near the end of the circuit Abi told me of some pain in her toes from them being squeezed so tight for such a long time.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_9b69.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-536\" src=\"https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_9b69-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"unadjustednonraw_thumb_9b69\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_9b69-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_9b69.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>She decided the best option was to tape up her toes and the end result was pretty &#8220;interesting&#8221;!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_9b68.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-537\" src=\"https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_9b68-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"unadjustednonraw_thumb_9b68\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_9b68-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_9b68-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_9b68.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Next we had to take on the murples (mint and purple) and I was pretty happy when I topped one out of the ENTIRE circuit! As you might have guessed we were pretty tired by this point so decided not to work on these climbs for a long time.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_9b7e.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-531\" src=\"https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_9b7e-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"unadjustednonraw_thumb_9b7e\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_9b7e-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_9b7e.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We had definitely had enough at this point but dealt with the pain well.<\/p>\n<p>We now had the blacks which in some way was a relief as we can usually do most of them without too much of a struggle but on the other hand, they usually have big holds and would scrape our skin more so this was a negative for the our hands. \u00a0We did around half of the blacks which was alright considering the circumstances.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_9b76.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-533\" src=\"https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_9b76-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"unadjustednonraw_thumb_9b76\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_9b76-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_9b76-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_9b76.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We then rested for almost an hour and I have to admit we both nearly fell asleep!<\/p>\n<p>The yellow circuit was second to last and we were both nervous of it as the holds are often very sharp so our raw skin would suffer a lot. \u00a0In the end the holds weren&#8217;t too bad and since we had both vigorously taped our skin we could barely feel it. \u00a0We did almost all of the yellows and fell back onto the sofa for another well deserved rest.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/sunshinepizzaoven.co.uk\/\">Sunshine Pizza Oven<\/a> kindly donated free pizza&#8217;s for me and Abi and they were the most delicious pizza&#8217;s I have ever tried!<\/p>\n<p>Also thank you very much to all of The Climbing Works staff who made announcements and supported us through the entire day.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_9b85.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-530\" src=\"https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_9b85-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"unadjustednonraw_thumb_9b85\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_9b85-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_9b85-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/emilytheclimber.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_9b85.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We were finally onto our last circuit after almost nine hours and we were so tired we could barely stand but we had to finish our challenge.
